Decanter World Wine awards 2016 for Orcia Doc
30 June 2016Seven Orcia Doc wine’s labels awarded by Decanter Awards 2016 with gold, silver, bronze and recognition commended. Great satisfaction for the wineries and for the Consortium of Orcia wine
The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) are the biggest and most prestigious wine competition in the world. The wines were judged by 240 world-class experts, including 69 Masters of Wine and 26 Master Sommeliers, during a week in Tobacco Dock in London. Italy has defended its honour with 58 wines on the list of gold medals, including 22 from Tuscany including two Orcia Doc’s labels.
During these days all the results of the 2016 competition are online and with great pleasure we present the Orcia Doc labels awarded:
GOLD
Among the small number of Tuscan wines, the labels Petrucci 2012 and Petruccino 2013 produced by Podere Forte in Castiglione d’Orcia, have got both the prestigious score of 95/100
SILVER
The wine Sornione Orcia Sangiovese Riserva 2011 produced by Valdorcia Terre Senesi in Castiglione d’Orcia has got the score of 90/100
BRONZE
Three bronze medals for three different wineries:
Terre di Sotto Riserva 2012 produced by Castello di Ripa d’Orcia has got the score of 89/100
Arcere 2012 produced by Mascelloni Roberto in Castiglione d’Orcia, has got the score of 87/100
Centosei 2012 produced by Pometti Carlotta in Trequanda has got the score of 87/100
COMMENDED
At the end, the “commended” mention to 01 Orcia Doc wine that’s produced by Mascelloni Roberto with 85/100
